Trimming and Full Length Sizing

Necked cases can be a pain. First and foremost - LUBE YOUR CASES. Otherwise they’ll stick in your die - and that’s no bueno.

When trimming, follow SAMMI specs for mid length trim length, and do NOT size first.  Sizing and trimming should be done in one operation, otherwise you’ll get brass that spins around in the die and ruins the case mouth.

At Southwest Brass, we definitely like the trim dies from Mighty Armory. They seem to be incredibly consistent, and with the 100’s of thousands of cases we’ve run there’s very little issue that we’ve had.
